Anaheim Metrolink / Amtrak Station

Anaheim Amtrak station is located at the north end of the Angel Stadium of Anaheim parking lot (2150 E. Katella 92806). The station is used by both Amtrak's Pacific Surfliners and Metrolink commute trains. There is generally plenty of parking, although it is reduced somewhat when the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball games are scheduled. It's only a short walk across the lot to the Stadium.

Metrolink/Amtrak Station, Anaheim

The single-story Anaheim train station is located at 2150 E. Katella Ave. It serves Amtrak, a passenger-train corporation that serves riders on a national level, and Metrolink, a rail system that operates in southern California. There are approximately 400 parking spaces here as well as public phones, bike racks, rest rooms and a waiting room.

Anaheim’s station is part of the 350-mile Pacific Surfliner train route that Amtrak runs from San Luis Obispo to San Diego. The route is Amtrak’s third-busiest route. The Orange County Line that Metrolink goes through Anaheim runs on part of Amtrak’s route, the portion that goes from Los Angeles to Oceanside. The station is also accessible for several Orange County Transportation Authority’s bus routes.

The city and Amtrak came to an agreement in 1982 to build a station that – starting in 1986 – serviced the San Diegan, a predecessor of the Pacific Surfliner but that only ran between Los Angeles and San Diego. Extended platforms, a crosswalk and shelters were added in the late 1990s. An intermodal station on the site, the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, is scheduled to be completed by 2013.

The station is very accessible to Angel Stadium of Anaheim and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Major League Baseball. The stadium is situated on the north end of the stadium’s parking lot. The Honda Center, the home of the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks, is located less than half a mile to the east of the stadium.

The station also sits less than three miles to the east of Disneyland, a historic theme park that opened in 1955 and was designed and built under Walt Disney’s supervision. It is one of the most visited theme parks in the world. Across the street, to the south, is the Anaheim Convention Center. The convention center opened in 1967 and is home to a convention hall, a basketball arena and more than 800,000 square feet of floor space.
